Caine Real Estate began it’s life in Hawthorn twenty years ago before opening in East Melbourne. On Monday, we open doors at our second office at 1165 Burke Road, Kew.

Many of our team grew up, were educated and currently reside in the area. As some team members are about to make the move and become permanent fixtures in the Boroondara area, I asked around the office for the best local eats and activities.

Here’s what they said…

Well I’ve been thinking about it and I don’t know why I love Kew and Boroondara, but I just do! My favourite cafe is Adeney, it was an old derelict milk bar which is now a super cool cafe. My favourite place is Green Acres Golf Club; just amazing flora and fauna, and the food is as good as anywhere. Another highlight for me is the drive to Kew from the city. Driving up Studley Park Road, after you’ve just driven through the busy inner-city, you coast for a couple of kilometres through dense native vegetation. You could be anywhere in Australia!

I have just recently stumbled across this beautifully quaint wine and tapas bar on Burwood Road called Tinto. It is run by a husband & wife from Barcelona, the atmosphere is just great and it’s some of the best tapas food I have had in my life. Earlier this week I attended the Kooyong Classic at Kooyong Tennis Club to watch one of the world greats Rafael Nadal, in fact, lose to Richard Gasque in a great tennis match.

For me, the Glenferrie Road retail strip offers some great restaurants. A favourite of mine is  Santoni, I love getting a pizza and spritz on the rooftop. The Palace Cinemas in Balwyn is another great spot. It’s art-deco architecture and foreign film festivals offer a great way to spend an evening. On top of this some of the best coffee in Melbourne can be found in Boroondara.  A few notable mentions are Liar Liar in Hawthorn, Finders Keepers in Hawthorn East and you can’t go past the Lindt Hot Chocolates at Choclatte!

If you’re already a local, or looking to make Boroondara home, please feel welcome to drop by our new office as of Monday.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Have a great week,
